Music in the Canyon Proctor Ramada at Madera Canyon Dear Friends of Madera Canyon members and ticket holders, We hope you are well during the COVID-19 crisis. We felt we had no choice but to cancel the Music in the Canyon concerts and all other spring events. The concert program is the major fundraising event for the Friends of Madera Canyon Education Program each year. We are planning preliminarily to reschedule the concerts for this fall. More details on that later. Some self-employed musicians, such as our slate of performers, find themselves financially challenged during this COVID crisis. The Friends of Madera Canyon board has voted to pay a nominal fee to the musicians whose Canyon shows were cancelled to help them stay viable as artists and available for our future concerts. These payments are possible thanks to generous ticket buyers who have donated all or some of the cost of their cancelled tickets! If you would like to donate all or part of your Music in the Canyon purchase to support Friends of Madera Canyon Education Programs, please email info@ friendsofmaderacanyon.org with the words DONATE ALL or DONATE $ amount, and we will process your request quickly. The Education Programs encourage children and adults to explore, study and connect with nature in the biologically rich and diverse canyon. We will begin refunding money this week for the cancelled spring concerts using the method customers used to purchase: i.e., check or credit card refund. We will announce the fall lineup of Music in the Canyon concerts as soon as we can. Once announced, tickets will be available on our web site www.friendsofmaderacanyon. org.
